Adventurous week!

Well, last Friday, while I was away on an All Girls trip to St. George Brian, (who I thought was WoRkInG) went snowboarding with Taylor and got into a snowboarding accident. He hit a tree and snapped his tibia and fibia (both bones in the shin). He was life flighted off the mountain and taken to U of U hospital for surgery. The surgery went well but his recovery did not. He was running a 104 degree temperature and was at 60% oxygen. His heart rate was sky rocketing and he looked like death by the time I got into town to see him. He was baffling all the nurses and doctors. They would come in the room and just stare at him with this blank look. No one had any answers as to why his vitals were so low. He told Taylor to tell me to that he wanted me to stay (obviously not thinking straight) and enjoy the trip that I had been looking forward to FoReVeR! But who can shop, have fun, swim, layout…while their husbands are on a hospital bed? NOT ME! I was crying and feeling like I was going to barf the entire time until I left. They ran tests, scans, did xrays, ultrasounds, drew blood…but they could not find the reason for the low oxygen. We have been so worried. Finally last night he showed some improvement. They think he may have gone into respiratory depression. He was finally taken off oxygen. His heart rate was better, his fever was gone. We feel very blessed to have him healthy and at home. I told him that since he ruined my trip and now I am going to be waiting on him hand and foot that when he is better he SO owes me something fierce for all of this. Thanks to all those who called, prayed, came by, helped with the kids, brought food…it has made this ordeal a lot more manageable. I feel blessed to have my hunny home. I’ll keep you posted on his progress.

  11. So glad to hear he is doing better. He\’s a stud and I\’m sure will be back to normal shortly. We\’ll be thinking of you guys.On a positive note, when this has past I would love to talk to him about having a co neck-beard contest. For some reason I can\’t do the mustache or sideburn thing, but can really get a lush, stylish neck beard going and I\’ve been trying to find other guys to help me bring back the style. 16. Kass! That is so scary! You are so strong…I hate all things medical! This is a crazy coincidence but I was writing you a comment on Saturday and my baby Hayden got hit by the neighbors 4 wheeler truck thing and knocked his tooth out! I was in the middle of telling you how sorry I was and they came running in covered in blood! Nothing compared to what your hubby went through!!! I hope he heals well and feels better soon! My brother had that same accident like 10 years ago…same place and everything! Well, we love you and let us know if you need anything! Karen
