Well, last Friday, while I was away on an All Girls trip to St. George Brian, (who I thought was WoRkInG) went snowboarding with Taylor and got into a snowboarding accident. He hit a tree and snapped his tibia and fibia (both bones in the shin). He was life flighted off the mountain and taken to U of U hospital for surgery. The surgery went well but his recovery did not. He was running a 104 degree temperature and was at 60% oxygen. His heart rate was sky rocketing and he looked like death by the time I got into town to see him. He was baffling all the nurses and doctors. They would come in the room and just stare at him with this blank look. No one had any answers as to why his vitals were so low. He told Taylor to tell me to that he wanted me to stay (obviously not thinking straight) and enjoy the trip that I had been looking forward to FoReVeR! But who can shop, have fun, swim, layout…while their husbands are on a hospital bed? NOT ME! I was crying and feeling like I was going to barf the entire time until I left. They ran tests, scans, did xrays, ultrasounds, drew blood…but they could not find the reason for the low oxygen. We have been so worried. Finally last night he showed some improvement. They think he may have gone into respiratory depression. He was finally taken off oxygen. His heart rate was better, his fever was gone. We feel very blessed to have him healthy and at home. I told him that since he ruined my trip and now I am going to be waiting on him hand and foot that when he is better he SO owes me something fierce for all of this. Thanks to all those who called, prayed, came by, helped with the kids, brought food…it has made this ordeal a lot more manageable. I feel blessed to have my hunny home. I’ll keep you posted on his progress.
