Bridget is the busiest bee! We can’t keep her from injuries. We love her to pieces but she’s destined to be that kid with the casts, ace bandages, band aids, crutches…it’s out of our control. It’ll be a miracle if she can last another year with out a broken bone. (cross our fingers) Dayne is much more mild mannered so this is a whole new ball game for us. Here are some “exciting” things that happened on the 4th!
Here she is in her usual position-running free. She doesn’t check what is in front of her which leads to cuts, scrapes and bruises all over her forehead.
This is after Adam, well, it’s not confirmed, but we all know it 🙂 pushed her away from him and she fell off the deck into the rose bushes. She had thorns sticking out everywhere and her ear and head were all bloody. I tell Emily not to worry that Adam is a bully b/c what goes around comes around and Bridget will have her turn with her next baby (whenever that is). Payback!! Ha ha.
Well, after the rose encounter Bridget ate a mushroom from the yard. What kid just picks a mushroom from the grass and decides to dig in? Bridget of course. We were all panicked but after calling poison control they said that she should be okay. Maybe just throwing up and stomach aches. Luckily none of that happened. But shortly after, she was playing with the hula hoop and she had it behind her head with her arms wrapped around it-just enjoying herself, thinking she was all silly. Then she lost her balance and fell face first (without any arms to brace herself since they were wrapped around the hula hoop) into my ankle. It hurt me so I knew she was in major pain. Her lips were all bloody and swollen and pools of blood were collecting in her mouth.
This was after the drama and she was settling down in her favorite place-Daddy’s arms.
I didn’t want to chance any more injuries so we strapped her down in a stroller, gave her a sippy cup and a teddy bear to snuggle with. She seemed pretty pooped but happy to be in one place. If you look closely you can see the bruise just right of her mouth up on her cheek where she slid in the tub and cut and bruised her face last week. I’m telling you, I have my hands full with this little girl.
